Derick Burleson served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Rwanda from 1991-93 where he taught American literature and Creative Writing at the National University
Derick Burleson's poems have recently appeared or are forthcoming in Kenyon Review, Paris Review, Poetry, Poetry Northwest and Western Humanities Review. He has an MFA from the University of Montana and an M.A. from Kansas State University. He served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Rwanda from 1991-93 where he taught American literature and Creative Writing at the National University. He is currently completing a PhD in Creative Writing and Literature at the University of Houston where he works as Managing Editor for Gulf Coast.
