Hi, Gary. I'm Andy Bell, a volunteer who was in Municipal Management II. I stayed in Venezuela for a year and a half, working as a city engineer in Cagua, Estado Aragua. There was an appeal for engineers serving in Latin America to help out with reconstruction and rehabilitation following a serious earthquake in Peru (7.9 magnitude on May 31, 1970 - about 70,000 fatalities). I signed up for that effort and was in Peru for a year and a half. The extra year allowed me to avoid the draft by getting a high enough number in the draft pool for 1972.
I just found about about Peace Corps Online by tracking down a volunteer I shared a house with in Peru. I have to say I can't picture you, but I certainly recognize your name.
I live in Pebble Beach, California, am married and have a daughter and a grandson. I'm a retired civil engineer and spent almost all of my working career in water resources.
