Work Description: Taught ESL in middla school and high school
Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:
Went to grad school at U. Penn in Phila. Lived and taught middle school
there for 5 years. Moved to San Diego Calif. taught Spanish and ESL at
S.D. High School until I looked up Paul Nixon at an international
conference in S.F. We married 15 years after meeting during Peace
Corps service. One daughter and one grandson. ESL teacher for City
College S.F. 20 years, facing a much awaited and deserved retirement
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
Peace Corps made me the person I am today. I have a much broader
view of the world as a result of seeing U.S. through the eyes of others.
The bonds of friendship form that period of my life are strong and very
much still in place.

Doris Otillar served in Ecuador 62-64, trained at the U. of Md. same time
we did. Last known whereabouts: Sedona Arizona.
