This is very interesting...I was deployed to Xique-Xique for two months during that time period with United States Air Force on a photo mapping mission along with five other airmen. I did not know or forgot a Peace Corp Volunteer was in town. We were very noticeable as we were deployed, supported, and recovered by CH-3's and C-130's, just about everyone in town would come out to the airport when one landed.

Dwight - I hadn't looked at this site since the five years ago when I first posted it until now - just a few days after you posted your message. Very funny. It's really unusual that I didn't know you were in Xique-Xique - since most people thought I was a CIA agent, I can only imagine what they thought you were! Too bad I didn't know you were there - I sure could have used the company!!
