1971: Matt Beha served in Iran in 1969 beginning in 1971
Returned Peace Corps Volunteer Matt Beha can be contacted at mattbehaahotmaildcom
Country of Service: Iran
Training Group: XXIII
Cities you served in: 1969
Arrival Year: 1971
Departure Year: TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language)
Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:
Returned to Omaha. Then to Des Moines then to Virginia, then to Michigan. Writing/editing. Have lived in Michigan since 1979. Now work at Lansing Community College.
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
Great learning experience. Still wish the Peace Corps had sent me where I had greater strengths. When they couldn't place you to use your training and experience, they made an English teacher out of you. C'est la vie. Still appreciated being able to learn another language and find out that not all the world revolves around the U.S.
Anyone you are looking for or would like to hear from?:
Anyone from our group who trained in Brattleboro, VT from May 5 - July 3, 1969.
Any message for returned volunteers?:
Work for peace.

Hi, Matt,
I was in your group and served in Tafresh. I live in Montery, CA now and am a professor and dean at a graduate school. How are you ,and what are you up to other than working at a community college?
