Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:
Not too difficult re-adjustment to U.S. life. Spent two years getting M.A. in
Journalism, U. of Missouri. Worked in newspaper and textbook publishing
about one year. Moved to San Francisco 1972, living in the Bay Area since
then. Many years self-employed writer/editor/trainer. Now in Palo Alto CA.
Married, with children 11 and 5. Recently laid off from technology editing
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
Great, challenging experience yielding personal growth and satisfaction.
Frustrated I could not contribute more to the host country. I am still in
touch with a host family (now in LA) that befriended me. Great, tearful
reunion last year with some I had not seen in 30+ years.
Anyone you are looking for or would like to hear from?:
EVERYONE! Intensely curious to know what people think, feel and do since
IRAN. Would like to find: Paul Reedy (a.k.a. Paul Rudy), Gary Allums from
Louisiana served in Ardebil, Azerbaijan Province.
Any message for returned volunteers?:
Look at U.S. with compassionate eyes. YOU saw the U.S. from outside; the
rest of the country did not.
