Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:
After earning an M.Sc. at the London School of Economics on my way
back from the Peace Corps, I went to Duke for a PhD in Political Science
and then earned an M.P.H. from the School of Public Health of the
University of North Carolina Chapel Hill during post-doctoral studies.
Since then I have taught & conducted research at several Universities in
the U.S. My focus has mainly been on domestic health policy and health
politics. However, I have maintained a great avocational interest in
Central Asia and will teach a course "Understanding Central Asia" for the
first time this fall. Several years ago I led the first delegation of RPCVs
back to Iran in the first NPCA-Friendship Force collaboration. I would like
to refocus on international/global issues and would love to have a
chance to work abroad.
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
It changed my life when I was in my 20s and is increasingly important to
me.
Anyone you are looking for or would like to hear from?:
Tim Thomas (who was stationed in Isfahan & in my Iran group)
