Description:
We're counted as "Group 9" but that seems to conflict with "Training Group
Number"--trained in Austin TX summer of 1966 (featuring sniper Charles
Whitman on the U-T Tower).
Assisted counterpart teaching "Physics" and using USAID-supplied lab
equipment.
TDY in Jalabad attempting to reinstall an X-ray system moved from
Kandahar---shorted out and never got it to function.
Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:
Returned to Kalamazoo MI and started work as Radio / TV Broadcast
"engineer"---still there after 32 years and 5 ownership changes. Now
Assistant Chief Engineer.
Other activities include amateur radio, Red Cross volunteer, church choir
and related activites.
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
How did I ever do it? The combination of bicycle travel and illness sure kept
the weight to a never-seen-since level...
Anyone you are looking for or would like to hear from?:
Anyone who might remember me or was in Lashkar Gah.
