Hi Hank,
My name is Umesh Pandey and I am from Gyaneshwor, Nepal. If I am not mistaken, you are the same Hank that stayed in rent in our house while you were a peace corps volunteer with your colleague Rich ? I am now 64 years old and as I recall my childhood, you taught me (8 yrs) and my sister Usha (4 yrs)for the first time to brush our teeth and gave us a pair of tooth brush and a paste. We learnt this from you. You were so friendly and energetic who would sing “ Tadha tadha janu cha Sathi …” and be a carpenter making your own bed stand which was used by us for a long time and lasted till few years back. I remember you visiting with your family once in our house may be in the early 80’s to show them where you stayed as a volunteer. I am not sure if you remember us as child but may be my mom and dad. My dad passed away in 2003 and my mom is now 84. My sister Usha is a US citizen and lives in Washington state. She has two children and her daughter is married and lives in the same state and her son is doing his music in LA. We recently visited them. I have a son and he is doing his MBA in Dallas. I had founded and worked for an NGO called NEWAH in the water and sanitation sector and now retired. I wanted to touch base with my childhood memories and wanted to thank you for everything you did to us and our family. Hope you and your family are in good health and spirit. I have posted my mail Id below and look forward to hear from you.
Warm regards,
Umesh
