Country of Service: Panama

Training Group Name: Panama 15,

Cities you served in: Santa Fe, Santiago and La Ciudad de Ninos,

Years of Service: 1968-1971.

Work Description: Cooperative education and running an orphanage.

Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:

I have held many positions in counseling, education, training and working with
international students and visitors. I currently design training programs for the
FDIC and I am looking forward to retiring in two years. I am thinking about
doing another stint with the Peace Corps.

Anything else you would like people to know about your peace corps service:

The cooperative my ex-husband, Mario, and I helped found, Cooperativa La
Esperanza de los Campesinos, is still being run by the members we trained.
They now process their own brand of coffee which is sold in Europe.

Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:

It was a life changing experience. It also forever altered my perceptions of US
government policies and practices abroad.
