After returning, went to grad school for an MA, later a PhD in sociology from Northwestern University. Became an academic and health services researcher. Now a professor of public health. Married for over 20 years, with a 16-year-old son.

A few changes in the past two years. I am now a professor of Applied Gerontology in North Texas. My son is now 18 and will be taking his senior year of high school in an international school in Mexico.
