Returned Peace Corps Volunteer Thomas W. Hayes can be contacted at blisterbritchesahotmaildcom
Country of Service: Botswana
Training Group: Summer 1980
Cities you served in: Mochudi
Arrival Year: 1980
Departure Year: 1983
Work Description:
Math/science teacher at Linchwe II Secondary school.
Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:
Got a linguistics degree and headed back overseas, to Japan, where I've been since 1987. I now work in an MBA program at an international university here. When I'm not in Japan I'm to be found in Nepal or Southeast Asia, just playing around.
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
I wish I'd kept the list of the people in my training group!!!
Anyone you are looking for or would like to hear from?:
Just before I left a new PCV named Laura Renstema (?) did her home stay with me. She took lots of pictures and I've been trying to track her down, as I lost virtually all my Botswana photos when I shipped them back to the States.
Any message for returned volunteers?:
Don't let anyone ever tell you you never did anything for your country!
