TORONTO, April 10 /CNW/ - In its April 18, 2005, edition (on newsstands Monday, April 11), TIME Magazine unveils its annual list of the "TIME 100." "The TIME 100, our annual list of the world's most influential people, is all about individuals like Yushchenko, whose courage inspires others to action," writes TIME Canada editor and TIME executive editor Adi Ignatius, who top-edited the special issue. In a letter to readers, TIME managing editor Jim Kelly writes: "If I had to sum up the difference between last year and this year, I'd say the 2005 list is more about moral influence than political power. TIME 100 is in the spirit of sparking thought and debate about who has influence in 2005."

The TIME 100 list profiles the lives and ideas of the world's most influential people and is split into five categories: Leaders & Revolutionaries, Builders and Titans, Artists and Entertainers, Heroes and Icons, and Scientists and Thinkers.

After the Tsunami in Southeast Asia last December, Peace Corps issued an appeal for Crisis Corps Volunteers and over 200 RPCVs responded.
