New Site - Part 2
[Excerpt]
Well. Okay. So I'm moving to (yet another!) site today. This is, of course, due to the fact that my previous site was deemed too dangerous for me to stay in ... Anyways, I was able to visit the site yesterday with my program manager and another Peace Corps staff member and it looks pretty good. I'm going to be in a town called Salar that's just outside of the Tashkent city limits and the first town within the Qibray region limits (I know this means nothing to anyone outside of PC Uzbekistan but it's a pretty convenient location - I'm abt 30 minutes from the city and about an hour from my old training community). I'll be teaching at a lytsee (a high school) as, of course, an English teacher.

| Friends of the Peace Corps 170,000 strong 170,000 is a very special number for the RPCV community - it's the number of Volunteers who have served in the Peace Corps since 1961. It's also a number that is very special to us because March is the first month since our founding in January, 2001 that our readership has exceeded 170,000. And while we know that not everyone who comes to this site is an RPCV, they are all "Friends of the Peace Corps." Thanks everybody for making PCOL your source of news for the Returned Volunteer community. |
