He declared his willingness to help Israel's cause in Latin America. "Here you have a true friend that is willing to use its leadership in Latin America if you consider that helpful," said Toledo, who put his hand on his heart several times during his speech.

Peruvian President Alejandro Toledo addressed the Knesset from the podium, giving an emotional speech in English that was not only loaded with Hebrew, but with Yiddish as well.
He declared his willingness to help Israel's cause in Latin America. "Here you have a true friend that is willing to use its leadership in Latin America if you consider that helpful," said Toledo, who put his hand on his heart several times during his speech.
MKs gave him a standing ovation.
Toledo also spoke out against terrorism, noting how it had battered his country and taken thousands of lives. "It is no way to solve a problem," he said. "Differences must be put on the table."
