Independent politician Kinky Friedman announced a new look and feel for his campaign on Monday.
The design comes in the form of a stylized logo designed by Austin artist Guy Juke.
Friedman is running for governor in 2006, though his first step is getting on the ballot.
He's hired the media team behind ads like these that helped elect professional wrestler Jesse Ventura governor of Minnesota.
Friedman is a former singer and mystery writer. He admits he's a political novice but believes he's still the best choice for Texas.
"As I said, the lieutenant governor will do a lot of the heavy lifting. I'll do the spiritual lifting. I don't want to have a lot to do with the Legislature if I can help it. Of course, they've got that beautiful Capitol building, seven feet taller than the one in Washington by the way - built for giants, inhabited by midgets,” Friedman said.
Friedman said he's barely watched the events of the 79th Legislative session, but he's disappointed at the time devoted to bills to ban suggestive cheerleading and gay marriage.
