Gabon RPCV Jennifer Baldwin to wed
The bride, 32, is a senior finance associate in Washington at the Nonprofit Finance Fund, a financial services firm for nonprofit organizations. She taught math as a Peace Corps volunteer in Dibwangui, Gabon, from 1994 to 1996. She graduated from Union College in Schenectady, N.Y., and received an M.B.A. from Columbia.

Jennifer Baldwin and Jeffrey Fremont Pryce are to be married today in Alexandria, Va. The Rev. George M. Caldwell is to perform the ceremony at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
The bride, 32, is a senior finance associate in Washington at the Nonprofit Finance Fund, a financial services firm for nonprofit organizations. She taught math as a Peace Corps volunteer in Dibwangui, Gabon, from 1994 to 1996. She graduated from Union College in Schenectady, N.Y., and received an M.B.A. from Columbia.
The bride is a daughter of Mary C. Baldwin and Christopher Webb Baldwin of Washington. Her father is the vice president for taxes at the Gannett Company in McLean, Va.
The bridegroom, 45, is of counsel to Steptoe & Johnson, the Washington law firm. From 1991 to 1993 he was a clerk to Associate Justice Byron R. White of the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Pryce, a graduate of Wesleyan University, received a master's degree in international relations from Cambridge University and a law degree from Yale.
He is a son of Joan M. Pryce and William T. Pryce of Alexandria. His mother was until 1992 an employment program coordinator in the family liaison office of the State Department in Washington. His father, who was the ambassador to Honduras from 1993 to 1996, retired as a vice president responsible for the Washington operations of the Council for the Americas, a lobbying firm.

| July 8, 2005: PC suspends program in Gabon Peace Corps announced the suspension of the program in Gabon citing the high cost of the program. In addition, a 2003 Inspector General report documented safety and security costs of $1 million that would be necessary to keep the program operating successfully. Background: In 1998 Peace Corps Volunteer Karen Phillips was was found murdered in the weeds about 100 yards from her home in Oyem, Gabon. Her killer has never been brought to justice. |
