United General Title Insurance Company Hires Drum to Expand National Agency
DENVER, Aug. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- United General Title Insurance Company is pleased to announce the expansion of its national agency department with the hiring of Joe Drum, executive vice president/national agency manager. Drum will be developing and working closely with United General's national agency department and its field offices in the areas of sales, account management, cross-selling of ancillary services, personnel recruiting, and agency set-up of multistate, regional and national agents.
"United General's mission has been, and will continue to be, creating strategic alliances with title agents around the United States," states Drum. "I have admired United General's philosophy of being 'driven by an independent spirit' and very much look forward to showing that spirit and delivering the company's story to an even larger title agent base." United General became part of First American Title Insurance Company in February 2005.
Drum has been in the industry for the past 31 years and is currently senior vice president for First American Title Insurance Company and enterprise manager for Mercury Companies. He will continue to serve in these management roles.
"Joe is an enormous asset to our team," states John Dwyer, president and chief executive officer of United General. "His knowledge, creativity, enthusiasm and vision will be a great resource to our growing agency base and field people."
Prior to joining First American, Drum was the executive vice president in charge of strategic initiatives for another national underwriter. He is co-author of the following books: "Understanding RESPA" (1992), "Understanding Reg X" (1994), and "Mortgage Finance" (1996). He also is the author of many articles on topics ranging from Native American rights, exclusionary zoning, landlord tenant laws, GSEs and the secondary mortgage market. Drum is the former chairman of the board of directors of the International Institute and trustee of Park City Hospital. He is the past chairman of the Real Estate Committee of the New York/Connecticut Chapter of the American Corporate Counsel Association and past president of the New England Land Title Association. Drum is a member of the Boston and Connecticut Bar Associations and was admitted to the U.S. District Court in Connecticut, New York and Washington D.C. He holds a bachelor's degree from Hiram College/University of Nebraska and obtained his juris doctorate from Quinnipiac College of Law in New Haven, Conn. He also completed M.I.T.'s Center for Real Estate Studies post-graduate program. Between college and law school, Drum joined the Peace Corps where he taught mathematics and English in the West Indies.
With the added financial strength of First American, United General is able to offer many new exciting products and services to its customers. | Friends of the Peace Corps 170,000 strong 170,000 is a very special number for the RPCV community - it's the number of Volunteers who have served in the Peace Corps since 1961. It's also a number that is very special to us because March is the first month since our founding in January, 2001 that our readership has exceeded 170,000. And while we know that not everyone who comes to this site is an RPCV, they are all "Friends of the Peace Corps." Thanks everybody for making PCOL your source of news for the Returned Volunteer community. |
