Jill also served in the Peace Corps in Togo, West Africa as a Community Health/Agroforestry Volunteer from February 1994 thru May 1996.
Barr has earned her PhD in Health Science from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She has been employed by Minnesota State University, Mankato as an assistant professor of Health Science for the past three years. Jill is in the process of adopting a boy, Kasee, from Kenya. She is currently working on a National Endowment for the Humanities Grant for a research project in Umoja, Kenya.
