Chris Skopec, 30, has been appointed assistant director of external affairs for the California Conservation Corps. He most recently served as country director for the International Medical Corps - Russia, where he provided overall leadership, strategic planning and program development. Previously, Skopec was grants coordinator for the International Rescue Committee in its North Caucasus office. He also served as a volunteer in the United States Peace Corps from 1997 to 1999, teaching English in Taraz, Kazakhstan. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $74,064. Skopec is registered decline-to-state.
