Hello to all.
I am looking for information of pottery related to traditional religions (I am writting a paper on the history of these tradition sin Africa). In some area's of sub-saharan Africa, people use special pots (generaly decorated with little "appliqué buttons") to store sacred things or to perform certain rituals. I have particularly few information for central Africa. If some of you me send me some information I would be gratefull.
Info required should include the:
- Ethnic / linguistic / clanic affiliation of the users and informants.
- General description of the vessel(s). A picture is fantastic.
- Are these pots made in specific conditions?
- How are they used?
For further info and contact use the attched adresse.
Many thanks in advance,
ALexander
