Entered Univ. of Washington Graduate school 1972 Graduated Ph.D.
History 1979, Assistant Professor University of Southern California History
(Modern Korea) 1981-95, Indiana University East Asian Languages and
Cultures Department 1995- Promoted to Full Professor 2002. Divorced,
living with son (age 13) in Bloomington Indiana.

Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:

It began what has become a life-long interest in Korea. Represented both
the most difficult periods in my life and some of the most rewarding
experiences as well.

Any message for returned volunteers?:

Never forget what you feel and see upon return to the U.S. Follow the
passions these feelings provoke.
