Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:
After Peace Corps I got an MA in Latin American Studies. Worked for a
short time at FEMA and then in the Cuban Refugee camps in
Guantanamo Bay Cuba. Decided to become an anthropologist after that.
Currently in the middle of doctoral exams and a move to Miami.
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
I think Peace Corps allowed me to develop excellent cross cultural skills
and a lot of patience! It inspired a continuing interest in all things Latin
American. Everyone in my training group agreed that we all got a lot
more out of it than we put in. I remember it as full of lots of ups and
downs and as very enriching experience
Anyone you are looking for or would like to hear from?:
Would love to hear from Roger Hoogerheide, Sue Sherry, and Shelly
from Yoro!
