Work Description: Medical Technologist and taught skills of Med. Tech to the lab workers
Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:
1974-1976 was spent recovering from sugeries as a result of an accident
while in the Peace Corps. One day after the Episcopal Church approved
ordination to the priesthood for women I was driving to Cambridge for
seminary/graduate school. I have been ordained since 1980. I work in a
congregation outside of Ann Arbor, MI.
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
They were great times! I am very appreciative of the time I was in Africa. It
certainly gives me a wider and deeper appreciation for the struggles of these
developing countries. I also am more attentive to the events in sub-Sahara
Africa now.
Anyone you are looking for or would like to hear from?:
Medical folks from Zaire in the mid-1970's.
Any message for returned volunteers?:
Keep up the volunteering spirit that got you into the Peace Corps. Share the
experience with others. Americans tend to be very provincial and think that
the American way is the only way. It is not; it may be good for us, but maybe
not for everyone.
