Iran for two years, after Peace Corps had to leave Libya (after the
coup). A short training took place in Tehran (one week). I taught ESL in
a primary school in Qaen one year and Birjand, one year.
Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:
I stayed and taught ESL at the undergraduate and graduate levels in
Mashed and Tehran for another eight years. After the revolution in
Iran, I returned to the States and started ESL programs in Cleveland
and then Berkeley. After 20 years, I then retired.
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
The best education I could ever wish for....a life-changing experience
