I have become a field linguist, specializing in describing and understanding
the history of languages spoken by indigenous peoples of South America,
especially in the Amazon
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
My experience in the Peace Corps made it possible for me to step directly
into field work without any extra practical training -- especially the medical
training has been useful.
