1980: Tania Kidd served in Togo in Tomegbe (Badou) beginning in 1980
Returned Peace Corps Volunteer Tania Kidd can be contacted at tadescaaaoldcom
Country of Service: Togo
Training Group: TEFL
Cities you served in: Tomegbe (Badou)
Arrival Year: 1980
Departure Year: 1982
Work Description: Teacher of English
Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:
Graduated with MA in TESL from OK State Univ. in 1985. Have been teaching ESL and computers in So. CA since Fall, 1986.
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
Though the first year was extremely difficult and departing after the second year was even MORE difficult, the PC term in Togo was the best experience of my life. Before leaving I had told everyone I was going to TEACH African students; however, I think I was the one who did the most learning. My perspectives on the world and what is REALLY important in life changed dramatically and have stayed with me always.

Update:
I "retired" early from public school teaching (ESL/computers)after nearly 20 years and expanded a magazine publishing business. I also have a small local photography business in the Palm Desert/Palm Springs, CA area. I raise and show Miniature Schnauzers and design websites related to dogs and dog health.
Would love to e-mail with other volunteers from my service years in Togo and/or volunteers who were also assigned to Tomegbe (Badou).
