I am an RPCV-Malawi, 95-97.
I spent three months in Sierra Leone, September through December 2005; I worked (Volunteer Consultant with the Worldwide Polio Eradication Initiative, assigned to World Health Organization). I cannot quantify the number of times during that period that I wished that Peace Corps could return to SL. It is truly a country with so many basic needs, many of which were exacerbated by the war. Fortunately, the war is over; yet rebuilding is very difficult.
I would be willling to assist in any way possible with a revitalization effort, including the use of a network of contacts in the Ministry of Health.
