I am planning a very important fundraiser on April 8th at the Embassy of Ghana, 3512 International Drive, NW, Washington, DC from 6-9pm. We are hoping to raise $20K for women entrepreneurs in Ghana which will enable them to buy new equipment and materials, train and hire new staff, learn business and computer skills and improve the efficiency and competitiveness of their small businesses. The event is organized by Women In Progress, an NGO in Cape Coast that is run by two RPCVs. We would adore Peace Corps support, involvement and attendance at this event! There will be Ghanaian food and entertainment provided - a blast of real Ghanaian culture and fun! And the Ambassador, Embassy staff and other top diplomats will be there. To learn more about the NGO, visit www.womeninprogress.org and to buy products made by the women, go to www.globalmamas.org. The suggested donation for a family of 4 is $100. All are welcome to attend and/or contribute and anyone interested in promoting sustainable development among women in Africa should come! Please let Brooke at Olster_brooke@bah.com know if you have any questions or suggestions.
