Next year will be our 50th year of independence from British rule. You have allowed the best part of your youth in contributing and helping us build this country [Malaysia] from its infancy for about a quarter of a century!
When we Malaysians were't quite sure of our Bahasa, you young Americans confidently blurted out "Bas Ipoh/Bau bertolak pada pukul berapa?... at over 200 words per minute!!
And most amazingly, some of you pioneered the teaching of Math and Science in Bahasa at our secondry schools! Some of you even won elocution and debates at national level.A feat that even some Malaysians up to this day would have butterflies fluttering in their stomach.
I hope some of your anaks and chuchus children and grands follow yr examples.
By the way I've 8 children, 2 in US, one in France the rest are still studying in Malaysia, the youngest in Form I.
I hope we'll have the reunion next year sometime.
