RPCV Congressperson Chris Shays is a disgrace.

He should not even have been given the designation of RPCV, as it is really intended for honorable persons who have honorably completed their Peace Corps Service. I doubt that is the case for Mr. Shays.

Look at his recent statements and you will see what has me upset:

REGARDING ABU GHRAIB
"It was a National Guard unit run amok," Shays said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. "It was torture because sex abuse is torture. It was gross and despicable ... This is more about pornography than torture."

AS TIME GOES ON, HIS STATEMENTS BECOME EVEN MORE TWISTED:
Shays sought to defuse controversy over his previous comments suggesting the Abu Ghraib abuses weren't torture but instead involved a sex ring of troops.

"Now I've seen what happened in Abu Ghraib, and Abu Ghraib was not torture," Shays said at a debate Wednesday.

LET'S CLEAR THE WATER ON WHAT IS TORTURE TO A SICK AND INCOMPETENT CONGRESSPERSON.
You know, I could talk all day about Abu Ghraib but why listen to me when... a picture says a thousand words. Here is a link to images of what has occurred in Abu Ghraib which have never, to the best of my knowledge, been revealed in any U.S. media outlets.

Congressperson Shays should issue a public apology for his statements and admit that he was wrong when he stated that "Abu Ghraib was not torture."
