an emerging non-profit organization that supports community-based art and media projects worldwide.


This special one-night showcase, co-sponsored by Megaphone Project and Art on Purpose, will feature a stunning exhibition of hand-made, all-natural silk shawls by Madagascar’s Firaisankina Silk Weavers Cooperative, an association of over 100 women from three generations dedicated to promoting and preserving traditional Malagasy silk weaving. Alongside Firaisankina’s shawls, called lambas in Malagasy, will be portrait photography of the weavers by Prism director, Jack Gordon, and photography produced by the Soatanana youth photo club.

Take Home a Piece of the Exhibition! Firaisankina’s shawls as well as photo prints will be available for purchase at this event. All purchases are considered tax-deductible donations to Prism, whose temporary fiscal sponsor is Art on Purpose. 100% of all funds raised go towards assisting Firaisankina and future Prism projects.
