I am looking for a PC volunteer currently working in the Rif Mountain area of Morocco to work with on a medical project. I will be visiting that area in March, 2007 to assess the need for medical equipment and supplies as well as possibly initiating a 2-3 week clinic staffed by UCDHSC and UCH personnel to provide free medical treatment to people in the RIF mountains. I am a former PC volunteer from Armenia (1997-99). This is an evolving idea but currently, it would involve perhaps setting up a meeting in a central location that would be attended by clinic and hospital administrators (do Moroccan hospitals and clinics have administrators?) and doctors. The meeting would be to determine need for equipment and supplies plus training of staff to use the equipment. It would be imperative to find responsible locals that will make sure the equipment and supplies are used for the purpose for which they are sent. Are you interested? Would you be willing to work with me?
