Training Group: EC60
Cities you served in: Roseau
Arrival Year: 1994
Departure Year: 1996
Work Description:
Served as a trainer and coordinator for the Adolescent Skills Training Programme at the Social Centre in Roseau. I also coordinated the start-up of the Goodwill School Uniform Cooperative and I supported special projects with the National Nutrition Council.
Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:
I live in Houston, Texas and I work in menu development for Continental Airlines. Working for an airline has turned out to be a great fix for someone with perpetual wanderlust.
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
I'm not sure how much of an impact I made on the people of Dominica, but it was a wonderful two years and I cherish the lifelong friends I met there. The experiences I had there definitely made me a better, stronger person.
Anyone you are looking for or would like to hear from?:
Anyone from EC59,60&61!
Any message for returned volunteers?:
I just returned from a ten-year "reunion" trip to Dominica. The more things change...the more they definitely stay the same.
