Work Description:
I taught vocational agriculture, science and English in the Gandhi Adarsha School which was near the airport. Used to walk across the runway unless the siren was sounding for an approaching flight.
Other Countries you served in, Training Group Name Arrival Year, Departure Year, Work Description:
I returned to Nepal in 1972 after finishing most of my 2 years of Conscientious Objector duty. I was allowed to finish out the requirement by getting back into the Peace Corps. Taught at the Siddhartha School in Kathmandu across from Kamal Pokhari.
Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:
I taught at Lincoln School for 9 years and then moved on to Japan where I taught in a private junior high school. After getting my M.A., I was able to move into university teaching. I am now at Tamagawa University's College of Arts and Sciences. Have part of the home farm back in Iowa and will be back there on retirement.
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
Where and who would I be today without it ?
Anyone you are looking for or would like to hear from?:
Anyone and everyone whose path crossed with mine.
