I have come across your story on the rescue of Peace Corps personnel from Tofua in 2006.What angers me is the fact that not one of those selfish people ever thanked the Australian Sailors who got them off that beach, how do I know, the coxswain of the RHIB is my son,he and his crew risked their lives in a dangerous sea rescue, the Royal Australian Navy earlier this year awarded Leading Seaman G Weekes and his crew a Maritime Commanders Commendation for Bravery in the highest traditions of the Service. The swimmer got them to the boat while the cox hovered in among rocks in high seas,"thankyou" doesn,t seem to be word those people in that beach have heard about.
