Returned Peace Corps Volunteer stephen fuqua can be contacted at sitiv1aattdnet

Country of Service: "Western" Samoa

Training Group: 22 (if I remember right)

Cities you served in: Safata Junior High, Apia

Arrival Year: 1976

Departure Year: 1978 (I lived in American Samoa and did trainings until 1982)

Work Description:

Teacher of Math and Science on southern Upolu at a "Junior High" I also did several trainings for volunteers

Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:

I did a MA ESL at the University of Hawaii and then spend working at a refugee camp in the Philippines until 1992. After that I taught at a Junior College in Saipan, did a second Masters in Computer Science, and I now work as a Middle School Math science teacher.

Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:

I shouldn't have taken myself as seriously as I did from time to time.

I should have drunk more kava and less beer.
