Language and cultural traning given for 12 weeks by Alem Company from Oct-dec 1970. Did Cholera vaccination in Butejera for 1 week. First assignment as Smallpox Surveillance Officer was in Wellega from jan-Jun 1971 then in Wello from July 1971 to nov 1972. Then I left PC for a period of time then rejoined PC Ethiopia in June 1973 as rurual secondary HS teacher in Assosa from sept 1973 to june 1975 then as HS teacher in fiche Shoa from Sept 1975 to November 1976. During this time since schools were not function i developed a school repair project in Fiche. Then by Dec 1976 all PC has left Ethiopia because of the political changes.

Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:

Worked at Soil reserach station in with USDA in Laramie, Wyoming, then as Secondary teacher on the Cherokee Reservation, then a Public health Educator on Navajo Indian reservation; consultant with International Eye Foundation in Malawi, as Technical Office for WHO in Brazzasville Congo for 18 years. Retired on Nov 2006 and current working as a budget and finace Office in WHO HQ Geneva.

Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:

Never regret my 5 years in Peace Corps and did all my learning there.
