Trasitioned into work in mental health field and became a licensed social worker; completed pre-med and now completing 1st year at medical school. Have also been involved in alternative counseling/Spiritual Healing/ Energy work.
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
Wished I could have done more. If I ever return, I plan on being more productive..but now I am experienced enough to know how to deal with issues that kept me from becoming as productive as I would have to have been. Perhaps, I will follow up on recommendations made from former volunteers to complete unfinished projects and accomplish needed ones.
Any message for returned volunteers?:
Don't let the obstacles get you down. It is difficult to communicate and assist anyone at various times. Many times the cultural differences get in the way...don't let it happen. Walk around them and get the job done!
