Work Description:

Farmers Co-op (PPCA) advisor

Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:

Aid worker in Bangladesh for two years. Took "temporary" work in Honolulu while deciding what I want to do with my life. Thirty years later (where did all the time go?) settled in Honolulu (wife -- cats but no kids-- mortgage, government job) still wondering what I'm going to do in life. Found religion ("It Ain't Dark yet but It's Getting There"). Retire in 20 months. Perhaps then I'll figure out what I want to do in life. Maybe I'll join the Peace Corps.

Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:

Changed my life completely. Hated the first year (had a lot of crap to get rid of) but I loved the second. By God's good grace I was given the privilege of living in Pohnpei back then. Although I'm a happy person today because of that opportunity, I must add that I found special moments of happiness there that I've not known since.

Anyone you are looking for or would like to hear from?:

Trading memories with 1960's & early 70's RPVV's (and Micronesian's who remember us) would be fun. But I'm easy. I'd like to hear from anyone and everyone. My current project is to end world hunger. It can be done (and wouldn't that be a great legacy to leave this broken world!). Let's talk.

Any message for returned volunteers?:

for Micro RPCV's, Micronesia is not in great shape these days. Medical care is not good and there's not a lot for people to do other than move to Honolulu and work at Jack-in-the-Box (which at least gives you medical care). Any ideas???

Hey,

Just found you! Don and I were in Pohnpei with you. WE were out in Seker in Sohkes. WE are going back this year for the first time in October. I know we will have tremendous culture shock. I have communicated with Loren and Largo and are hoping to visit with them. We live in Seattle. Write back if your remember us.
