Liberia RPCV Philip A. Waite named Outstanding Scientific Materials Manager of the Year by the National Association of Scientific Materials Managers
Waite graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1975 with a bachelor's in chemistry and biology. In December of that year as a Peace Corps volunteer, he went to Liberia, West Africa and taught high school science and math. He returned to Liberia and taught science in the English division of a German iron mining company for more than four years.

Denison University employee named manager of fear
GRANVILLE -- Philip A. Waite, stockroom supervisor and chemical hygiene officer at Denison University, was named Outstanding Scientific Materials Manager of the Year by the National Association of Scientific Materials Managers.
Waite was recognized for his achievement with a presentation of a piece of Froebel art glass, compliments of Kimble-Chase Glass. The presentation took place at NAOSMM's annual Conference and Trade Show in Cleveland, July 31 to Aug. 2.
The Outstanding Scientific Materials Manager of the Year Award was created by NAOSMM in 1983 to honor managers who have distinguished themselves on the job and in their service to NAOSMM.
