I am looking to converse with people who used to be in the Congo when it was Zaire and who lived in the bush. I am going to be doing my thesis in the Maringa-Lopori-Wamba landscape area. Does anybody know some Lingala resources, or some cultural information? - redmaypril at gmail dot com

Very funny to run across this as I rarely visit this site.... I work just below MLW (Zaire RPCVs will not necessarily understand the Landscape reference)in another landscape and was also a volunteer in Zaire. Before coming back I looked for PC language training material with no luck. There are some websites with lingala basics but otherwise your best bet would be to ask someone to buy you a lingala book here in Kinshasa and send it to you stateside. Maybe someone at AWF could help out.
