Regional Director for the Inter-America and Pacific Region Allene Zanger visiting Tonga
While visiting Tonga, Ms. Zanger will meet with Tonga government officials, Peace Corps Volunteers and their community partners, Peace Corps Tonga staff members and most importantly the citizens of Tonga with whom the Volunteers live and work. Ms. Zanger will travel to Vava'u and even visit the island of Hunga to meet with Volunteers living and working there. The purpose of her visit is to become more familiar with the Tonga staff and Peace Corps Tonga Country Program as well as to learn more about the professional, personal and cultural experiences of the Peace Corps Volunteers living here.

A very special guest from the US Peace Corps is visiting the Kingdom this week January 14-19. Her name is Allene Zanger and she is the Regional Director for the Inter-America and Pacific Region (IAP) of Global Peace Corps. Ms. Zanger directly supervises Peace Corps Country Programs in 29 different countries. She reports to the worldwide Peace Corps Director, Ronald A. Tschetter in Washington DC.
Previous to accepting her current position, Ms. Zanger served in the Peace Corps Office of Domestic Programs, the Office of the Kern County, California Superintendent of Schools, the California Attorney General's Office and she was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Panama working in environmental education.
While visiting Tonga, Ms. Zanger will meet with Tonga government officials, Peace Corps Volunteers and their community partners, Peace Corps Tonga staff members and most importantly the citizens of Tonga with whom the Volunteers live and work.
