Returned Peace Corps Volunteer Susan Stensrud can be contacted at kybugsawindstreamdnet
Country of Service: Tunisia
Training Group: Philadelphia/Ras Jabel
Cities you served in: Beni Khaled
Arrival Year: 1982
Departure Year: 1985
Soil Science extension, with a
hobby as beekeeper.
Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:
Ric Bessin, who was also a PCV and
beekeeper, and I stayed in Tunisia
another year keeping bees. Then we headed back to the US, where Ric got his Phd and Masters @ LSU. We have 3
sons, Scott, Sean and Andy and we all
live in KY. Ric works at UK in extension and I do part-time home healthcare work, volunteer, and all
play soccer and still keep bees.
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
The time in Tunisia will always hold
a special place in my heart, the people,
scenery, hard times....
