I'm a returned PCV - India 16. My wife and I are at a point where we can retire. One of the things we're thinking about is the Peace Corps again, but we're also looking for other ideas and that's why this note.

We both would like to do something that's differs from what we have been doing, with the thought that doing something new. learning something, would be more rejuvinating than to continue to do what we've been doing for many years now. I'm a clinical psychologist, my wife is an elementary school teacher. So any thoughts or reactions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Chuck White

I just finished writing a book review of
"Confessions of a Renegade (Peace Corps
Years) by Eddie James Girdner . Ed was a member
of India/53 with me in Punjab state 1968-70.
He has written an excellent memoir of
his two years as an agriculture extension
agent with village farmers in Banga Block
In Jullandhar Districts. It is an "earthy
account" , literally and romantically,of a
Missouri farm boy being birthed
into a world wise political scientist.
It is an excellent piece of work from an
accomplished author of previously
published books."Confessions of a Renegade"
can be found on Amazon.com -available
From other bookseller for under $20.
Read my review first.
Alan D. Barone India/53
(I am not his book agent)

We are still searching for the following volunteers: Alice Poling, Ron Mercado, Al McDougall, Bob Palmer and Leander Jones. We also want to extend an invitation to original members who went into other countries or groups, ie. Claudia Records and Sandy Padrick. Please contact me ASAP. We are in the planning stage now.
