Andrea earned a BA in Government from the University of Texas-Austin in 1994. Upon graduating, she entered volunteer service in the United States Peace Corps. As a volunteer she served two years (1995-1997) as a rural health extensionist in the farming community Naciente which is located in the north eastern part of Paraguay. She is also a generation Peace Corps volunteer, her father served in Honduras in the late sixties and was also a Peace Corps trainer. After completing her work with the Peace Corps she traveled throughout South America. Andrea is currently seeking a Masters in Public Health at the University of Texas- Houston Health Science Center- School of Public Health.
