NACAA Appoints New Director of Training
WASHINGTON, DC – Michelle DeFayette has been appointed director of training by the National Association of Community Action Agencies (NACAA).
DeFayette is responsible for developing and implementing training workshops for NACAA members and staff. She comes to the association from the Peace Corps national headquarters in Washington, DC, where she served as training specialist for nearly five years.
Prior to joining the Peace Corps staff, DeFayette spent two years in Brazil teaching English as a second language and five years as the educational materials coordinator for Youth For Understanding (YFU) International Exchange in Washington, DC. She received a master's degree in international communication from American University in Washington, DC and a bachelor's degree in political science from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.
Based in Washington, DC, NACAA is the largest national organization representing the interests of the 1,000 Community Action Agencies organized to fight poverty at the local level. CAAs comprise the premiere network in community building, service delivery, and low-income advocacy in this country.
