Education:

After graduating from Garces High School in Bakersfield, I earned a B.A. in English at Saint Mary's College of California in 1963. I studied for my California teaching credential and M.A. in English Language Studies at San Francisco State, and I attended the Summer program in linguistics at Cambridge University, England in 1971. I also have certificates in technical writing and Swedish massage.
Experience:

I have taught 37 years, five at Sacred Heart High School in San Francisco, one as Assistant Director of the Center for Intercultural Studies in Spain, and in New Haven Unified School District since 1972; I served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Brazil, and led "citizen diplomacy" trips to the former Soviet Union. I have been a sports official in basketball, volleyball and softball.

Travel:

Brazil, Spain, Russia, Lithuania, England, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France, Belgium , Turkey, Southern Africa.
