Moshi, Tanzania
Pictures Taken around Moshi, Tanzania, where I taught Architectural Drawing and Building Construction at Moshi Technical School.
These are some of my students trying to look like they are busy, and having fun. This Mt. Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa. On a clear day, it dominates the view from Moshi Tech.

Here's my wife on the way to the market. The women in the background are bringing bananas there as well. The guy in the Boy Scouts of America shirt was our market guy. Knowing someone made haggling less of an ordeal.

This is Popo (the bat) as a puppy. She is now an 80 pound behemoth happily residing in Houghton, Michigan. This is our house during the dry season. It even has indoor plumbing (No Water, but indoor plumbing)

A view 100 meters from my house. A farmer tills this entire "shomba" (farm) using a "jembe" (heavy hoe). Neighbors catcjhing termites next to our house. I figure if they can eat our house, why not eat them?

My wife, Suzanne, and our buddy Jeemer at her birthday. Lots of Safari Lager and a Land Rover. The Soviet/American "Summit" party at our house. No one told us that there was a cold war underway.

My daughter is currently in Moshi working for a guy named Babu Bob. She is thinking of the peace corp after graduate school. She is getting a degree in Cultural Anthropology. I guess I should learn how to spell it. Any thoughts or advice. Jim Granacki
