Peace Corps Honors Texas A&M, Celebrated 40 Years

COLLEGE STATION - Texas A&M University and Dr. Edwin Price, returned Peace Corps volunteer, will be honored by the Peace Corps during its 40th anniversary celebration at 6 p.m. Wednesday (April 18) at the Stark Galleries in the Memorial Student Center.

Texas A&M will be honored for being one of the "Top 25" volunteering-producing campuses in the country.

"Peace Corps would like to take this opportunity to thank Texas A&M University for providing such fine candidates over the years," Abel Ruiz, Southwest recruitment regional manager, said. "Texas A&M has provided 375 students since 1961. Currently, we have 39 Texas A&M alums all over the globe."

Price, assistant vice chancellor of international agriculture for The Texas A&M University System, will be honored for his educational and agricultural accomplishments. He served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Malaysia.

Returned Peace Corps volunteers will hold a panel discussion after the ceremony for Texas A&M students, local Peace Corps applicants and nominees.

Hi. My mother is looking for her friends called "Ad" and "Betsy". They were volunteer in Sik, Kedah, Malaysia on 1962. She is hoping to in touch with them after years of silent.
